Today we stand alongside the Australian Pancreatic Cancer Alliance and the World Pancreatic Alliance by turning purple for World Pancreatic Cancer Day along with 126 other landmarks in the country to raise awareness and pay tribute to those living with the disease and to honour those who have lost their lives to pancreatic cancer.
In 2024, it is estimated that 3,902 people will die from pancreatic cancer in Australia. Pancreatic cancer is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.
Patients diagnosed early and in time for surgery are more likely to live five years and beyond. Early diagnosis is vital, so say “Hello, Pancreas” and don’t ignore the signs.
